Principal AI Research Lead — Autonomous Swarms

Advance decentralized edge-AI orchestration: RL and deep-learning models coordinating heterogeneous UGVs and UAVs in real time without a constant central link.

You will lead the research that lets one operator command many machines. We are building decentralized autonomy where heterogeneous UGVs and UAVs cooperate in real time even when the link to the operator is jammed or gone. You will own the modeling — reinforcement learning, multi-agent coordination, and the quantization work that squeezes it onto 15-watt edge accelerators — and you will prove it on the range, not just in simulation. Expect to set the research direction for a small team and to publish internally what works and what doesn't, fast.

• PhD/MSc in CS, AI, or Robotics with swarm-intelligence contributions
• Deep experience with PyTorch, ROS 2, and decentralized coordination
• Optimization for on-edge accelerators (Orin, Hailo, Coral)
• Strong command of vector mechanics and spatial geometry

• Design and train cooperative multi-agent swarming models
• Quantize models to run inside 15 W with near-zero latency
• Turn field data into continuous retraining loops
• Lead a team of six senior autonomy engineers
