Mission

Build custom navigation modules for multirotor and fixed-wing aircraft — modifying PX4/ArduPilot to defeat GPS spoofing and fuse optical-flow navigation.

GPS is a luxury we plan to lose. You will go deep into PX4/ArduPilot internals to defeat spoofing, fuse optical-flow and alternative sensors into the state estimator, and keep aircraft flying and striking when the satellites go quiet. You will tune EKF behavior, program terrain-following over unmapped ground, and chase navigation drift through flight logs until it disappears. The role mixes serious control theory with hands-on field debugging alongside the UAV team.

What you bring

  • Deep ArduPilot or PX4 internals, EKF3 estimators, control theory (PID/LQR)
  • Strong C++ and MAVLink experience
  • Resolving magnetic interference and IMU calibration
  • Analyzing flash telemetry to locate navigation drift

What you'll own

  • Tune EKF matrices to fuse alternative sensors when GPS fades
  • Program terrain-following over unmapped regions
  • Refine SITL/HITL models for high-wind, high-payload cases
  • Work with field engineers to isolate autopilot faults
